Mohican Model A Ford Club Official Rules for Valve Cover Racing
The Cars:
1. The cars shall have no power source.
2. All motive force is provided ONLY by gravity.
3. The staging lane is only 24 inches long. Thus the wheel base of your car should be less than 24 inches.
4. Cars must have 4 wheels each not to exceed 6 inches in diameter.
5. Cars shall weigh 10 pounds max or less.
6. The clearance from chassis to race track must be greater than 2 inches to allow the front wheels to tough a 2 inch high starting gate.
7. The maximum width of the car is 10 inches because the track is only 15 inches wide.
8. ALL cars will be inspected to the above listed guidelines. Any car changed during the race will be re-inspected.
The Course:
1. The course consist of two divided inclined lanes each 15 inches in width.
2. A staging are 24 inches long with a 2 inch high starting gate.
The race:
1. The cars will be launch with their front wheels on the starting line and against the starting gate.
2. The first car to have its front wheels cross the finish line is the winner of that race.
3. There will be two races in each heat. Cars will change lanes for there second race.
4. To win the round, you must win 2 races in your heat. If after two runs, there is a tie, a coin will be flipped to pick lane choose.
5. Winning cars will advance to the next round and this will continue until all are eliminated but 1 car.
6. Scoring is double elimination to the finals.
7. A car is eliminated after losing 2 rounds.
