CAR CORRAL – CHAIRPERSON
Responsibilities
Recruiting workers for the Day of the Show (need 6 at all times)
Field layout for car corral and public parking
Running the car corral and public parking
Items Needed
4 safety cones
Barrel or drum
Table and lawn chair
4 clipboards
Pens
Pen to check large currency (counterfeit detector pen)
Sign in sheets for car corral (sample attached)
Apron or fanny pack for the 2 people collecting money
2 way radios for public parking
Safety vests
Bring money to start with (ones, fives, tens, twenties, 2 fifties) approx $300-
$350.00 to start.
Envelopes or bank bags for turning in money collected. Separate parking money from car corral.
NOTE: you cannot hear any announcements at this end of the field. Day Before the Show
Lay out car corral field and start of public parking. This is done after the flea market area is marked.
Day of Show
Arrive no later than 6:00 AM for car corral – 6:30 AM for public parking
In the AM use the drum as a divider for 2 incoming lanes- then switch to 1 incoming and 1 outgoing as you see people leaving.
Collect car corral fee and fill out information on clipboard, then direct them to person parking (try to park vehicles closest to entrance first- vehicles left on trailers park further down- see layout)
Collect public parking fee and direct the vehicle to Parking Attendant down field with safety vest on. He will direct the vehicle to the Parking Attendant down the
row who in turn directs the vehicle into a parking spot.
Keep the flow of vehicles moving so as not to hold up traffic on Elm Street.
NO SELLING OF PARTS – in the car corral.
NO PUBLIC PARKING with FOR SALE SIGNS IN WINDOWS
End of Day
Shutdown time is 3:00 PM
Take your sheets for car corral sign-ins and add up the number of vehicles registered in corral. Multiply this number by the entry fee.
Count all monies received for the day for both public parking and car corral and have a second person to recheck the count.
Take the total collected minus the amount totaled above from car corral entry- this amount will be what you collected from public parking. Put the car corral envelope and mark it public parking with total enclosed.
Remove table etc. and store in trailer.
