Responsibilities:
FIELD LAYOUT CHAIRPERSON
To coordinate all field layout, including cars on display, concessions, ice cream, judging stand, registration, etc. Must formulate layout at earliest possible time so other chairpersons will be aware of space requirements and space allotments.
Coordinate flea market space with flea market chairperson. Generally, flea market chairperson will be responsible for this designated area and layout thereof.
Coordinate with Show Announcer – public address system requirements.
Coordinate any electrical requirements, if needed.
Pre-Show Duties:
Select committee vice-chairperson and helpers. A minimum of 12 are needed – more are preferable.
Visit field to become familiar with layout.
Check condition of equipment and determine if quantity is sufficient. Secure additional equipment, if necessary (stakes primarily).
Arrange to have field mowed prior to show.
Items Needed:
Two (2) or more tape measures (at least 300 feet long).
Paint guns for marking the field.
Four (4) or more sledge hammers or post mauls.
Layout stakes. The number is determined by the number of spaces in flea market and by rows in car layout.
Flea market chairperson is responsible for marking his/her spaces by whatever method he/she chooses.
Nails for plates 16-d.
Four (4) or more staple guns.
Large map showing field layout so each chairperson can easily see layout.
Ensure club trailer is on site and maintained.
Post Show Requirements:
Remove stakes, etc.
Coordinate disposal of or storage of above.
Provide written report to show chairperson any problems so as to prevent them next year.
Provide written report of equipment needs, breakage, etc. to be replaced the following year.
